Pickled vegetables are very common side dishes in Japan. "Carrot and Turnip Pickles" are really easy to make. You can use a radish if you can't get a turnip.

Cooking Instructions

(1) Pare the carrots and turnips, and slice them thin.

(2) Make dipping sauce by mixing vinegar, sugar and a littile bit of soy sauce. Then put the sauce to a heat-resistant container.

(3) Soak (1) in the sauce and heat it in a microwave oven for 1 - 2 minute. Then chill it in the fridge for approximately 2 hours.

(4) Enjoy!

Cooking Ingredients (for 2 persons)
Turnip: 1 (Radish: 1/4)
Carrot: 1/2
Vinegar: 5 tablespoons
Sugar: 2 tablespoons
Soy sauce: some

I sometimes make tomato chicken stew referring to a Japanese recipe book for IBD. I really like it because it is tasty and hearty.

Cooking Instructions

(1) Peel the skin of the chicken breast, and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Put some salt on them. Slice the onions and peppers thin. Then chop the garlic finely.

(2) Prepare a plastic bag, and put the chicken pieces and flour in it. Shake the bag to dredge the chicken pieces in flour. Then take them out from the bag.

(3) Prepare a pan and mist olive oil on it using an oil mister. Fry the chicken pieces.

(4) Prepare another pan and mist olive oil on it using an oil mister. Fry the garlic and onions till softened. Then add the peppers and fry them.

(5) Prepare a pot. Put (4) and white wine in it, and boil them. Add the chicken pieces and canned tomatos. Then add some salt and pepper, and keep boiling them over mideum heat.

(6) When it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to simmer and take the foam out from the surface. Keep boiling for 20 - 25 minutes. Don't forget to stir sometimes!

(7) In the meantime, cut the broccoli from the stalk. Then heat it in a microwave oven for 1 minute.

(8) Add the broccoli to the pot and keep boiling for 3 more minutes.

(9) Turn off the heat and enjoy!

Green pepper: 1

White wine: 50ml
