I sometimes make tomato chicken stew referring to a Japanese recipe book for IBD. I really like it because it is tasty and hearty.

Cooking Instructions

(1) Peel the skin of the chicken breast, and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Put some salt on them. Slice the onions and peppers thin. Then chop the garlic finely.

(2) Prepare a plastic bag, and put the chicken pieces and flour in it. Shake the bag to dredge the chicken pieces in flour. Then take them out from the bag.

(3) Prepare a pan and mist olive oil on it using an oil mister. Fry the chicken pieces.

(4) Prepare another pan and mist olive oil on it using an oil mister. Fry the garlic and onions till softened. Then add the peppers and fry them.

(5) Prepare a pot. Put (4) and white wine in it, and boil them. Add the chicken pieces and canned tomatos. Then add some salt and pepper, and keep boiling them over mideum heat.

(6) When it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to simmer and take the foam out from the surface. Keep boiling for 20 - 25 minutes. Don't forget to stir sometimes!

(7) In the meantime, cut the broccoli from the stalk. Then heat it in a microwave oven for 1 minute.

(8) Add the broccoli to the pot and keep boiling for 3 more minutes.

(9) Turn off the heat and enjoy!

Cooking Ingredients (for 2 persons)
Chicken Breast: 200g
Flour: some
Onions: 100g
Broccoli: 70g
Green pepper: 1
Red pepper: 1
Garlic: 1 clove
White wine: 50ml
Boiled tomatos: half a can
Salt and pepper: some
Olive oil: some

"Boiled chicken with turnips" is sort of Japanese style stew. Use radishes if you can't find turnips. Here are the cooking instructions.

Cooking Instructions

(1) Cut off the stalks from the turnips and pare them. Cut each turnip into 4 pieces. Don't throw away the stalks and leaves!

(2) Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. Put some salt on them.

(3) Put (2) in a pot and soak them in water. Boil them at high heat. Sometimes remove the foam coming up on the surface.

(4) Put 2 spoons of rice wine (sake) and 1 spoon of sugar in the pot. Use white wine if you don't have rice wine. Keep boiling over low heat.

(5) Add the turnips, salt and soy sauce into the pot. Keep boiling them till softened.

(6) Put the stalks and leaves of the turnips at the very end of the boiling process, and keep boiling for 3 - 5 more minutes.

(7) Turn off the heat.

Turnips: 3 sticks
Rice wine (or white wine): 2 tablespoons
Sugar: 1 tablespoon
Salt: a half teaspoon
Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon

Cooking Instructions

(1) Peel the skin of chicken breast, season it with pepper and salt, and then cut it to the appropriate size of pieces.

(2) Peel the skins of carrots and onions. Cut the carrots and make them bite-sized pieces. Then cut the onions into strips.

(3) Peel the skin of potatos and cut them to bite-sized.

(4) Cut the broccoli to make it bite-sized pieces, and heat them in a microwave oven for thirty seconds.

(5) Prepare a pan, and put water and some consomme in it. Then put (1) and (2), and boil them over medium heat.

(6) Put (3) to the pan and keep boiling up at low heat. Sometimes remove the foam coming up on the surface.

(7) While boiling (6), make white sauce. Prepare a bowl, put skim milk powder, and dissolve it in water. Then put flour gradually, and stir it till thickened.

(8) Put (7) to (6) and continue boiling for 20-30 more minutes at low heat. Don't forget to stir the stew sometimes.

(9) Turn off the heat and put (4) in the pan. Then put a little piece of butter.

(10) Enjoy!
